| “ISO 9000 in Thai Private Schools: Case Studies” is a study exploring the concept and application of ISO 9000 standards in Thai private schools. Two Case studies have been conducted with two private schools-Saint Joseph Convent School and Jirasart Wittaya School. In addition, three experts have been interviewed and document analysis was combined for the research. The result of the study found that ISO 9000 is a set of international quality standards and guidelines which has earned a global reputation as the basis for establishing quality management. It is compared as a preventive mechanism from producing low quality “products” which are defined as stakeholders’ satisfaction and students’ full potentialities. The adoption of ISO assists Saint Joseph Convent School to work more systematically and assist Jirasart Wittaya Schools to reach better academic and service standards. Consultation and training become important steps or strategies in implementing ISO standards. In addition, Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) might assist private schools by introducing a pilot project with high-performing private schools by providing academic/financial support including a guideline of implementation and adjusting quality standards to be compatible with ISO standards. | |||
